Because we are aware that people may be visiting for different reasons (for example, some who are interested in Dr. Brubaker’s Quran manuscript research may not care to read his political commentary), we have designed the site to have a logical separation into categories. There may still be overlap, but we hope that the separation generally helps to maintain a sense of focus and order.
Dr. Brubaker is aware that what he writes often touches on topics that are sensitive and emotional. Because of this, he deeply appreciates it all the more when people of different opinions take the time to read and consider his thoughts, as this is one way knowledge is advanced. The testing of our assumptions is healthy. Dr. Brubaker hopes his work is meaningful and challenging to your thinking in positive and productive ways.
Finally, we are all on a journey, an ongoing process of discovery and learning. Dr. Brubaker asks that you extend him grace as he continues to grow and develop in his own study and research. People sometimes lift up those who have achieved an advanced degree from a respected institution of higher learning, but we are all human and few people are more keenly aware of how much they do not yet know than the one who has recently-completed a Ph.D. This is as true of Dr. Brubaker as it is of anyone.
